She's someone who believes that everyone's born with a particular talent; creating fresh, informative copy happens to be hers.

A Connecticut native with a BS in journalism from Southern CT. State University, she brings to the table nearly 10 years of experience as a copywriter, journalist, consultant and Web designer. Throughout her career, Booker-Brown has worked with companies of all sizes nationwide, including:

• Weekly Reader Corporation
• Pitney Bowes
• Time Warner
• John Frieda
• WWE
• Essence Communications
• CB Commercial
• UBS Warburg
• Southern Connecticut State University

Booker-Brown has contributed articles to various print and online publications, including Stamford Advocate, Fairfield County Weekly, New Haven Register, MediaBistro.com, HealthQuest, Essence, Vibe, Honey and XXL. On the "creative" side, she's the designer, creator and editor of Triscene.com (an online magazine that covers the New York and Connecticut area), and has written many small business articles for the Web.

As the owner/founder of a successful virtual assistance practice, Booker-Brown also provided creative and administrative assistance to other small business owners via email, phone and fax. She soon realized that the value her clients found in her copywriting services began to stand apart from her general offerings. She became known for the copy she generated for their press releases, bios, websites, brochures, flyers and presentations, and it eventually led to her full-time copywriting business.

How does Booker-Brown describe her writing style? “I'm not just a copywriter—I'm also a consumer, and as such I appreciate it when I'm spoken to in a straightforward, friendly, conversational voice. Just give me the information without the meaningless jargon,” she laughs. “I try to keep that in mind and follow the same formula when I write for my clients.”

And now for the personal stuff...
In her spare time, Booker-Brown enjoys open-mic spoken word, “serious” karaoke competitions and trading witty barbs with the unseen in online discussion forums. While she's in the gym working off the pecan pie she adores a bit too much, her iPod's playing everything from Steely Dan to Prince to A Tribe Called Quest. Booker-Brown resides in southern Connecticut with her husband, infant daughter and snobbish-but-lovable cat, Misha.
